1) La Chaux Carnival
This carnival is held from March 31 - April 2, 2006 at the La Chaux-de-fonds to celbrate the end of winter. It is characterized by many colorful parades with great music.
2)Patrouille des Glaciers
This event is held at Valais on April 26 - 30, it is held every two years.
You will be able to see highly experienced skiers make their way along the Siww-Italian border.

History
Switzerland was known as Helvetia in ancient times. In 1648, the Treaty Of Westphalia gave Switzerland its independence from the Holy Roman Empire. Later french troop occupied the country and name it Helvetia Republic, but it was restored to its federal government by the Napolean. By 1815, the french and italian peaking people of Switzerland granted political equality.
